I have very sensitive eyebrows. I'm not sure why. But I see people sit and pluck and pluck and pluck with tweezers and I just can not do that. Every time I pluck, my eyes fill up with tears. It hurts so bad. So I don't pluck them.
This means that I get my eyebrows waxed every few weeks. It's not like a standing appointment or anything... I just find a random nail salon when I have a few minutes to myself and go in and then I'm finished and walking out in a matter of minutes.
And I wear sunglasses the rest of the day because my eyebrow area gets so, so red after I get them waxed. Some people ask me, "doesn't waxing hurt worse than tweezing?" Maybe, but at least with waxing it hurts about 6 times and then it's over. With tweezing, it hurts 42 times. And I have to hold ice cubes to my forehead in between each pluck and I just don't have time for that.
Anyways, yesterday I walked into a nail salon and asked for a brow wax. A very enthusiastic woman led me to the back room. We made small talk as she ripped my eyebrow hairs out with boiling hot wax. After it was all said and done, we had a very interesting conversation:
Me: Okay, thank you so much. This looks so much better!
Her: Okay! You are welcome!
Me: What was your name again?
Her: My name Kathleen!
Me: Well it's nice to meet you, Kathleen, I'm Jenny.
Her: Jenny? J-E-N-N-Y?
Me: Yes, that's right.
Her: Okay Jenny. I'm K-A-T-H-L-E-E-N, Kathleen!!
Me: Well it was nice to meet you. I'll see you next time, okay?
Her: Okay! I love you, Jenny! See you next time!
And I just feel like our friendship progressed really quickly.
And that's all I have to say about that.
